WHO WE ARE
SageReport is a FERPA-compliant SaaS platform built by practicing school psychologists. Our mission is to take back our time for students and families by automating most of the report-writing process while offering human-in-the-loop oversight of every detail. Our field deserves a real answer to the problem of ballooning report lengths and caseloads. SageReport is it.
Vision:
Human connection is the antidote to the youth mental health crisis. SageReport cuts report writing from hours to minutes, freeing school psychologists to spend threetimes more time with students—tripling impact without costing districts a dollar more. With that time returned, kids get help when they’re overwhelmed, teachers get support in hard moments, waits for evaluations shrink, and students reach caring adults faster. This shift brings real relief to schools and puts connection back at the heart of school-based support.
Mission:
SageReport addresses the critical gap in assessment technology for school psychologists' specific workflow: existing tools handle isolated tasks, but no system tackles the full technical complexity of data integration, cross-battery analysis, and report generation that defines modern school psychology practice. We deliver comprehensive assessment technology built by senior engineers and expert school psychologists, enabling psychologists to produce rigorous, parent-friendly reports efficiently and return time to direct student service.
Impact
School psychologists are expected to be a frontline response to the youth mental health crisis, yet most spend the majority of their time writing lengthy reports instead of working directly with students. Research has shown for decades that the biggest barrier to psychologists’ impact is the assessment workload—not lack of skill or motivation. Most enter the field to support children, but their days are consumed by documentation, data compilation, and legally required reports that often take 6–12 hours each. This inefficiency contributes directly to burnout, shortages, long evaluation waitlists, inequitable delays in services, and strained relationships with families.
WHAT:
SageReport is a FERPA-compliant, deeply technical psychoeducational report-writing system that ingests a full student record in a single upload and produces expert-level drafts in minutes. It supports more than 90 commonly used assessments, integrates data across sources, and generates cohesive, clear, defensible, and parent-friendly reports. Human-in-the-loop review ensures psychologists retain full control. The system uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to produce state-aligned, legally sound narratives that would otherwise take hours to compile manually. Case-management tools streamline the evaluation workflow from intake to final review.
WHY:
School psychologists are held back by an outdated, 1990s-style workflow that forces them to manually type in test data, records, interviews, observations, and compliance rules with no modern system to support them. Every other field has already adopted end-to-end platforms that integrate their workflows; school psychology has been left behind. Existing tools offer secure chat or minor task shortcuts, but none solve the full evaluation pipeline that determines how quickly students get help. When schools finally have consistent documentation and high-quality evaluations, waitlists shrink, students receive support sooner, teachers get clearer guidance, and districts can redirect saved time and resources back to kids instead of administrative inefficiencies. This is exactly the gap SageReport fills—an enormous, underserved market with urgent demand.
HOW:
SageReport is designed by school psychologists partnered with senior full-stack engineers with deep security expertise. We are already piloting V1 with districts, validating accuracy, workflow efficiency, and usability. Implementation is simple: districts onboard securely, psychologists upload the student record, and SageReport produces a draft within minutes for review, editing, and finalization. This process reduces report-writing time by more than 85%, freeing hours every week for direct counseling, crisis support, teacher consultation, and intervention.
By eliminating the primary bottleneck in school psychology, SageReport expands capacity, improves evaluation quality, reduces legal exposure, and accelerates access to services for students nationwide.
Fiscal Impact
Evaluation quality has become a major legal and financial risk for districts. Assessment disputes appear in a large share of due process cases: between 38% to 50% of adjudicated cases from 2020–2022. In New York City, due process payments are projected to exceed $1 billion, with evaluation issues often at the center. Districts that settle early still spend an average of $23,827 per case, while litigated cases can exceed $200,000 in attorney fees alone. Even small districts face heavy financial exposure, such as Radnor Township’s $6 million in settlements over three years. While evaluation problems are rarely the sole factor, they are an underlying issue in a significant portion of cases—and districts are consistently vulnerable when reports are incomplete, outdated, poorly integrated, or insufficiently documented.
SageReport directly addresses these intertwined issues: overwhelming workload, students’ need for 1:1 connection, costs to schools of poor evaluation quality, and the deep inequities caused by long delays in identifying and supporting struggling students.
